The goal of this bachelor thesis is to characterize the dolomites of late Devonian Daugava formation and to sort out the lithologically industrial types of dolomite in the investigational deposits. During the study fieldwork, the documentation of outcrop and the sampling have been carried out. Using the research data of thin-section and the resistance to pressure and water absorption tests, it was collected the necessary information on physio-mechanical properties of the rock and the impact of microtexture and microstructure on them. It was found out that the 1st lithologically industrial type of the dolomite shows better physio-mechanical parameter results in resistance to pressure and water absorption tests than other dolomite types. The impact of dolomite microstructure and microtexture on the characteristics of rock mechanical resistance is significant.
