Mērijas Bartonas E.Gaskelas romānā "Mērija Bartona" un Ketrīnas Ernšo E.Brontes romānā "Kalnu aukas" salīdzinājums

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Mērijas Bartonas E. Gaskelas romānā „Mērija Bartona” un Ketrīnas Ernšo E. Brontes romānā „Kalnu Aukas” salīdzinājums”. Šajā darbā tiek analizēti Mērijas Bartonas un Ketrīnas Ernšo raksturi, viņu dzīves, darbību motīvu atainojums. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir salīdzināt abas varones, atklāt kopīgo un atšķirīgo, jo abu varoņu tēli nebija tipiski Viktorijas laika literatūrai. Bakalaura darbā tiek sniegts arī ieskats tā laika sociālajā un politiskajā dzīvē, kā arī sievietes lomā. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no ievada, 4 nodaļām, 4 apakšnodaļām, secinājumiem un izmantotās literatūras saraksta. 1. nodaļā tiek sniegts 19. gadsimta Anglijas politiskās un sociālās dzīves apskats. 2. nodaļā ir apskatītas E. Gaskelas un E. Brontes biogrāfijas un darbi. 3. nodaļa ir veltīta tieši romānu varonēm – Mērijai un Ketrīnai, ir aplūkota meiteņu bērnība, viņu raksturs, attiecības ar citiem romāna varoņiem, 4. nodaļā tiek sniegts pārskats par sievietes lomu Viktorijas ērā, un 5. nodaļā abas varones tiek salīdzinātas savā starpā, tiek atklātas kopīgas un atšķirīgas iezīmes. Salīdzinājuma mērķis ir izpētīt, kādā ziņā varoņu tēli atbilda sievietes tēlam Viktorijas laikā, un kādēļ tie nebija tipiski tēli. Bakalaura darba apjoms ir 50 lapas, tika izmantoti 34 literatūras avoti.

The theme of this Bachelor Paper is “Comparison between Mary Barton in E. Gaskell’s Novel “Mary Barton” and Catherine Earnshaw in E. Brontë’s Novel “Wuthering Heights” ”. In this paper characterization of Mary Barton and Catherine Earnshaw, depiction of their lives, feelings, motives of their actions have been described. The aim of the Bachelor Paper is to compare both Mary Barton and Catherine Earnshaw, because both images of heroines were not typical for the literature of Victorian era. In Bachelor Paper there has also been given a look into social and political life of that time, and role of Victorian woman. The Bachelor Paper consists of introduction, four chapters, 4 subchapters, conclusion and a list of references. In chapter 1 summary of the political and social life of Victorian England is given. In Chapter 2 the biographies of E. Gaskell and E. Brontë and their writings have been described. Chapter 3 is devoted to the main heroines of the novels – Mary and Catherine, their childhood, characters, and relationships with other heroes of novels have been observed; in the Chapter 4 the role of woman in Victorian Era has been observed, and in the Chapter 5 comparison between them has been given, similar and different features have been shown. The aim of comparison is to examine, in what sense images of heroines were typical for image of woman in Victorian era, and in what sense they differed. Volume of the Bachelor Paper is 50 pages; 34 sources of literature had been used.
