Abstract

Šis bakalaura darbs „Skats uz baroka kultūru no 20. gadsimta skatpunkta Rozas Trimeinas romānā „Mūzika un klusums”” koncentrējas uz baroka kultūras attēlojumu Trimeinas romānā, ka arī atspoguļo noteiktu postmodernisma ideju ietekmi uz šo baroka kultūras attēlojumu. Darba mērķis ir apskatīt dažu baroka kultūras raksturīgo pazīmju attēlojumu Rozas Trimeinas romānā „Mūzika un klusums.” Darba hipotēze ir parādīt, ka romāns „Mūzika un klusums” atklāj noteiktas līdzības starp baroka un postmodernisma kultūrām. Galvenie secinājumi parāda, ka šis romāns atspoguļo noteiktas raksturīgas pazīmes, kas ir kopīgas baroka un postmodernisma kultūrām: tajos ir ļoti daudz pretstatu. The present bachelor thesis under the title ‘View of Baroque Culture from the 20th Century Point of View in Rose Tremain’s Novel “Music & Silence”’ focuses on the representation of Baroque culture in Tremain’s novel ‘Music & Silence’ and also reveals the influence of certain Postmodernist ideas on this representation of Baroque culture. The goal of the thesis is to examine the representation of some of the characteristics of Baroque culture in Rose Tremain’s novel ‘Music & Silence.’ The hypothesis of the thesis is to demonstrate that the novel ‘Music & Silence’ reveals certain similarities between Baroque and Postmodernist cultures. The main conclusions indicate that the novel reveals certain features that Baroque and Postmodernist cultures have in common: they are full of opposites. Besides, Baroque artists and Postmodernists pay attention to the role of imagination in human lives. Key words: Rose Tremain, the novel ‘Music & Silence’, Baroque culture, Postmodernist culture
