Zur LanganzeigeZusammenfassung
Diplomdarbā no lingvistiskās pragmatikas aspekta apskatīta mācību grāmata Writing Transactional Letters. Iegūtie dati liecina, ka mūsdienīgas mācību grāmatas izmantošana zināmā mērā attīsta studentu pragmatisko kompetenci formālajā rakstībā, tāpēc to var uzskatīt par vienu no priekšnoteikumiem svešvalodas studentu komunikatīvās kompetences attīstībai. Lai lingvistiskās pragmatikas ieguvums būtu efektīvāks, izdarītos secinājums var attiecināt uz jebkuras svešvalodas apguves klasi, tādējādi veicinot komunikatīvās kompetences attīstību.

The present paper examines a textbook for Writing Transactional Letters from the perspective of linguistic pragmatics. The research regards the pragmatic competence as one of the main components of the communicative competence. The research aims at proving that such universals of linguistic pragmatics as the Cooperative Principle and the Speech Acts can be applied in teaching Danish as a foreign language and that linguistic pragmatics as a subfield of applied linguistics is teachable by using a textbook for acquiring letter writing. The paper relates the theory examined to practice by applying pragmatic criteria to a modern textbook and by analyzing the texts produced by the learners of Danish. The scope of the research is narrowed by examining the pragmatic features in writing. The conclusions drawn are based on a case study, during which such research instruments as an observation, a checklist and a students’ skill test were used. The data obtained prove that the use of a modern textbook develops learners’ pragmatic competence in formal writing to a certain extent, thus, it can be considered as one of the prerequisites for developing the non-native language learners’ communicative competence. The conclusions drawn might be applied to any foreign language classroom to make the acquisition of linguistic pragmatics more efficient, thus, facilitating the development of the communicative competence.
Key words: communicative competence, pragmatic competence, cooperative principle, speech acts, collocations, letter writing.
