Pokera terminoloģijas veidošana latviešu valodā

Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt pokera terminoloģiju latviešu valodā un konsultējoties ar nozares ekspertiem sastādīt lietoto terminu glosāriju.
Darba teorētiskajā daļā izpētīta terminoloģijas teorija un pasvītrotas TK izvirzītās terminu veidošanas prasības. Izpētītas svešvārdu un slenga vārdnīcas un internetā pieejamie resursi. Praktiskās daļas ietvaros veikta 90 pokera spēlētāju aptauja un rezultātu izpēte. Apmeklētas pokera spēles klātienē, lai fiksētu spēlētāju lietotos terminus. Atzīmēti PokerStars programmatūrā latviskotie termini. Veikta pokera terminu un atsevišķu žargonismu un slengismu apskate. Secināts, ka pokera terminoloģiju galvenokārt veido anglicismi, kurus aptaujātie spēlētāji nevēlas aizstāt ar latviskākiem ekvivalentiem.

The theoretical part of the thesis covers terminology theory and TK requirements for term formation. Foreign word and slang dictionaries and the available online resources have been studied. Within the practical part of the thesis a survey of 90 poker players has been carried out. The author has attended live poker games and researched PokerStars software in order to record the terms used. The thesis also looks at separate poker terms, slang and jargon. It has been concluded that poker terminology is mainly composed of anglicisms, which poker players do not wish to replace with Latvianised terms.
