Multimodalitātes jēdzienu var izprast vislabāk, izpētot dažādos semiotiskos resursus, kuru sadarbība nodrošina jebkura teksta, statiska vai dinamiska, multimodalitāti. Darbā apskatīta multimodalitāte kulinārijas raidījumā “The Delicious Miss Dahl” un noskaidrots, kā tādi semiotiskie resursi kā runa, dziesmu vārdi un ķermeņa valoda sadarbojas, lai radītu īpašo, ‘savtīgo’ sērijas noskaņu. Teorētiskais apskats nodrošina analīzes struktūru, kurā iesaistīta īpaši izveidota sērijas multimodālā transkripcija. Transkribētā materiāla analīze ietver gan kvantitatīvas (biežuma analīze), gan kvalitatīvas (teksta analīze) izpētes metodes. Pētījums atklāj ciešu savstarpēju saistību starp runu un ķermeņa valodu raidījuma vadītājas unikālās ‘savtības’ nozīmes izveidē.

The present paper investigates the multimodality of the television cooking show ‘The Delicious Miss Dahl’ and explores how the semiotic resources of speech, song lyrics and body language cooperate in the creation of the specific ‘selfish’ mood of the episode. The theoretical review provides frameworks for the analysis of the specifically created multimodal transcription of the episode. The analysis of the transcribed material involves both quantitative (frequency analysis) and qualitative (textual analysis) methods. The research reveals the interconnection between language and body movement in the creation of the unique and idiosyncratic meaning of ‘selfish’ that the presenter of the show wanted to convey.
