Esošais studiju darbs izpēta paradumus un tradīcijas angļu dzejnieka un reģionāla novelista Tomasa Hārdija daiļliteratūrā. Darba teorētiska daļa prezentē definīcijas un diskusijas vārdu „paradums” un „tradīcija” būtības priekšstatus. Kā arī izskata diskusijas par Industriālo Revolūciju Anglijā deviņpadsmitajā gadsimtā otrā pusē. Studiju darba praktiskā daļa prezentē pētījumu par Tomasa Hārdija biogrāfiju un pārskata viņa lielāko darbu sarakstu. Kā arī darba praktiska daļa prezentē paradumu un tradīciju pētījumus Tomasa Hārdija novelēs un īsos stāstos. Darba nobeigums ir pamatots uz Tomasa Hārdija daiļliteratūras paradumu un tradīciju novērošanu un analīzi. Šī darba rezultāti un pētījumi būs noderīgi un interesanti studentiem un jauniem cilvēkiem, kuri ir ieinteresēti Anglijas vēsturē un kultūrā deviņpadsmitajā gadsimtā The present research paper investigates the customs and traditions in the fiction of the famous English poet and regional novelist Thomas Hardy. The theoretical part provides definitions and deals with the discussion of the essence of the notions ‘custom’ and ‘tradition’. It also considers the discussion of the Industrial Revolution in England in the second half of the nineteenth century. The practical part of the paper presents the research of the biography of Thomas Hardy and introduces the list of his major works. The practical part of the paper also presents the research on the wide range of the customs and traditions in the novels and short stories of Thomas Hardy. The conclusions drawn are based on the observations and the analysis of the customs and traditions in Thomas Hardy’s fiction. The results and conclusions of this study will be useful and interesting for the students and young people that are interested in the history and culture of England in the nineteenth century.
