Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Trako nams kā telpisks kino tēls: piemēru analīze varas attiecību diskursā”. Darba mērķis ir izzināt, kā filmās tiek atainota psihiatriskā slimnīca kā piespiedu slēgta vide un kā šis atspoguļojums saistāms ar reālām varas praksēm. Pētījuma metodoloģija balstīta N. Fērklafa kritiskās diskursa analīzes pieejā, to saistot ar semiotiskās analīzes zīmju kategorijām. Teorētiskās daļas struktūru nosaka konteksta izzināšana: apkopotas psihiatriskās slimnīcas vēsturiskās un politiskās varas noteiktās prakses, apskatīti saistītie psiholoģiskie, sociālie, varas un estētiskie raksturojumi. Analīzes daļā skaidroti kino valodas elementi un to nozīme varas attiecību konstruēšanā. Secinājumos atspoguļoti būtiskākie vienojošie elementi starp varas attiecību praksēm un to raksturojošo atainojumu filmās.

The aim of this paper is to explore how films show psychiatric hospitals as compulsory closed space and how this reflection is related with power practices in reality. Research methodology is based on F. Fairclough’s approach to critical discourse analysis linking it with semiotic analysis. Structure of theoretical part is determined by finding out the context: summary of practices determined by historical developments of psychiatric hospitals and political powers, as well as review of psychological, social, power and aesthetic characteristics. The explanations of language elements and their meaning in construction of power relations are captured in the analysis section. The conclusions summarize the essential links between the practices of power relations and their most common representation in films.
