Hypoxia has a positive effect on body’s adaptation to the exercise. The mechanism of the adaptation is not clear yet and is therefore subject to the research. The bachelor’s paper studies the dynamics of the fast phase cardiac parameters recovery in acute normobaric hypoxia after veloergometric submaximal exercise.
The results of the study show, that postexercise recovery of heart rate (HR) is monotone, however recovery of stroke volume (SV) and cardiac output (CO) tends to be phase-like. The slopes of linear regression equations and the percentage recovery allowed drawing a conclusion that SV recovers faster than HR, and CO is more affected by SV than HR both in normoxia and hypoxia. Hypoxia and exercise-induced hypoxaemia decrease the recovery of HR, but increase the recovery of SV and CO.
