Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Kandavas novada demogrāfiskās un sociālekonomiskās izmaiņas administratīvi teritoriālās reformas ietvaros”. Reformas mērķis ir izveidot ekonomiski attīstīties spējīgas administratīvās teritorijas ar vietējām pašvaldībām, kas nodrošinātu kvalitatīvu pakalpojumu sniegšanu iedzīvotājiem. Kandavas novads bija pirmais izveidotais novads Latvijā. Kandavas novads bija kā paraugs citu Latvijas novadu izveidei. Kopš novada izveides ir pagājuši 12 gadi un šo gadu laikā ir bijušas gan demogrāfiskās, gan sociālekonomiskās izmaiņas. Darbā ir veikta šo izmaiņu analīze.
Darbu veido piecas nodaļas. Pirmajā nodaļā apkopota informācija par Administratīvi teritoriālo reformu Latvijā līdz 2008. gadam un arī 2008. gadā pieņemtā reforma. Otrajā nodaļā autors dod ieskatu par pašvaldībām Latvijā un to raksturojošajiem lielumiem. Trešajā nodaļā ir dots Kandavas novada vispārīgs raksturojums – ģeogrāfiskais novietojums un fizioģeogrāfiskais raksturojums. Ceturtajā nodaļā tiek analizētas Kandavas novada iedzīvotāju struktūras izmaiņas. Piektajā un noslēdzošajā nodāļā, autors analizē Kandavas novada sociālekonomiskās izmaiņas.

Bakalaura darbs satur 45 lapas, 14 attēlus, 5 tabulas, 3 pielikumus The theme of the Bachelor's paper is "The changes of Kandava's Region Demography and Social Economy within the Framework of Territorial Reform". The aim of the reform is to create administrative territories that would be capable to develop economically with local municipalities that would provide qualitative service render to the inhabitants. The region of Kandava was the first established region in Latvia. It was as an example to other Latvian regions. 12 years have passed since the establishment of the region and within these years there have been both demographic and social economical changes. The analysis of these changes is done in the paper.
The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter covers information on Administrative territorial reform in Latvia up to 2008 and the reform adopted in 2008. In the second chapter the author looks at the municipalities in Latvia and the relevant measurements. In the third chapter there is a general description - geographical location and physical geographical description. The fourth chapter deals with analysis of the structure changes of Kandava region inhabitants. In the fifth and final chapter the author analyses the changes of Kandava region social economical changes.
