Mutvārdu tulkošanas zudumu mazināšanas stratēģiju analīze , tulkojot latviešu-angļu valodu pārī Eiropas Parlamentā

Tulkojot sinhroni, bieži ir novērojami leksiskā materiāla zudumi. Tos var samazināt, sagatavojoties, ja runa ir saņemta laicīgi, vai izmantojot tulkošanas teorijā apskatītās metodes. Ne vienmēr tulkojamās runas ir savlaicīgi pieejamas. Tulkojot uz angļu valodu, iespējams izmantot papildu tehnikas, kas samazina apstrādei nepieciešamo piepūli, piem., „Plain English Campaign” [jeb brīvi tulkojot – Skaidras angļu valodas kampaņa].
Maģistra darbā leksiskā materiāla zudumu samazināšanas stratēģijas tiek apskatītas gan no teorētiskā skatu punkta, gan izmantojot publiski pieejamos avotus. Izvēlētie teorētiskie aspekti ir saistīti ar relevances [saistības, būtiskuma] teoriju. Tomēr tādi tulkojuma skaidrībai būtiski aspekti kā fonētiskais aspekts darbā netiek analizēti.
Praktiskajā darba daļā tiek analizēti izvēlētu Eiropas Parlamentā teikto runu tulkojumi. Deviņas runas izvēlētas, jo tās atrodas ērti pieejamā un meklējamā valodas korpusā. Darba noslēgumā tiek piedāvātas stratēģijas, lai uzlabotu snieguma kvalitāti, tulkojot latviešu-angļu valodu pārī Eiropas Parlamentā. Darbs sastāv no trim nodaļām, secinājumiem un tēzēm.

It can be reduced with preparation if a speech is provided well in advance or by following techniques described in the interpretation guides. Speeches to interpret are not always available well in advance. When working into English additional techniques can be used in order to reduce processing effort, for example the „Plain English Campaign”.
In the master thesis, lexical material loss minimising strategies are reviewed from selected theory aspects, as well as examined from a publicly available and searchable repository. The theoretical aspects chosen are related to the relevance theory, yet some important aspects for an interpretations’ clarity, such as the phonetic aspects of interpreters’ work are omitted altogether.
A study sample of performed simultaneous interpretations at the European Parliament is analysed. The given sample of nine speeches was chosen since it is in a readily available and searchable language corpus. Following theory and analyses, some strategies for improving deliverance fidelity in the Latvian-English language pair interpretation at the European Parliament are proposed. There are three chapters, conclusions, and the thesis.
