Teikumu konstrukciju variācijas angļu valodas apguvēju rakstu valodā

Abstract

Pētījums ir koncentrēts uz teikumu variācijām studentu angļu rakstu valodā. Korpuss ar simts studentu akadēmiskajiem paragrāfiem tika pētīts, lai analizētu un pētītu teikumu struktūru lietojumu studentu rakstu darbos, kuriem iepriekš nav bijušas priekšzināšanas un šāda veida pieredzes. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot visbiežāk lietotās teikumu konstrukcijas un kādas ir rakstīšanas problēmas ar kurām studenti visbiežāk sastopas. Veiktais pētījums ir balstīts uz korpusa izpēti, kurš kopā veido simts studentu paragrāfu lielu krājumu. Analīze ir veikta saskaņā ar divām galvenajām metodēm - kvantitatīvo un kvalitatīvo metodi. Pētījuma rezultāti sniedz atbildes uz pētījumā izvirzītajiem jautājumiem. Rezultāti attainoja, ka visbiežāk lietotā teikumu variācija studentu rakstu darbos ir vienkārši teikumi.

The problem that is being studied in the present BA thesis is the sentence varieties in students’ written English. An investigation of hundred students’ academic paragraphs was carried out with the purpose to analyze and investigate the usage of sentence structures in students’ academic written assignments, as they as they have not been formally taught sentence structuring in Academic English. The goal of the present thesis is to find out the most commonly used sentence varieties in students’ written English and to identify the problems students face while writing. The present research is based on a corpus consisting of one hundred students’ written academic paragraphs. The applied research method is based on two main methods which are quantitative and qualitative methods. The research findings provide the answers to the research questions. The findings have showed that the most frequently used sentence varieties in students’ written English are simple sentences.
