Bakalaura darba temats ir „Komunikatīvā pieeja angļu valodas mācīšanā un studentu motivācija”. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā komunikatīvā pieeja ietekmē skolēnu motivāciju apgūt angļu valodu. Teorētiskajā daļā apskatīta angļu valodas mācīšanas metožu attīstība un motivācijas ietekme. Praktiskajā daļā aprakstīta gadījuma izpēte Nautrēnu vidusskolā. Pētījuma metodes ir teorijas avotu izskatīšana, gadījuma izpēte un aptaujas datu kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā analīze. Rezultāti liecina, ka skolēnu galvenais motivators apgūt angļu valodu ir darba tirgus iespējas. Secināts, ka komunikatīvā pieeja palielina skolēnu motivāciju iesaistīties ar angļu valodas apgūšanu saistītās aktivitātēs.

The theme of the Bachelor thesis is Communicative Approach to ELT and Students’ Motivation. The aim of the thesis is to investigate how the Communicative Approach influences students’ motivation to learn English. The theoretical part describes the development of approaches to ELT and the importance of motivation. The empirical part presents the case study piloted at Nautrēni Secondary school. The methods of research are: theoretical literature review, case study, questionnaire-based survey and quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data. It has been concluded that the Communicative Approach increases students’ motivation to learn the English language and participate in activities.
