Bakalaura darbā “Gabriela Garsijas Markesa dzīve un daiļrade. Romāna “Pulkvedim neviens neraksta” tulkojuma salīdzinošā analīze” tika veikta oriģinālvalodas un tā tulkojuma salīdzinošā analīze, aplūkojot, interpretējot un paskaidrojot tulkotāja, Voldemāra Meļinovska, izvēlētās valodas lietojumu un tā risinājumus mērķvalodā. Pētījuma laikā tika secināts, ka, lai tulkotājs spētu tulkot no oriģinālvalodas uz latviešu valodu līdzvērtīgā un pietiekami augstā līmenī, viņam ir jābūt labām dzimtās valodas zināšanām, jāpārzin daiļliteratūras valoda un tulkošanas metodes.

Comparative analysis of the translation of the novel “No one writes to the colonel” deals with the comparative analysis of the original language and the translation. The comparative analysis was performed examining, interpreting and explaining the translator's, Voldemārs Meļinovskis, language-use and the solutions in the target language. During the research it was concluded that in order to get an equivalent and sufficiently high level translation from the original language into Latvian, the translator should have a good command of the native language, be familiar with the language of fiction and translation methods.
