Bakalaura darba tēma ir - Latvijas politiskās un mediju elites kritika tabloīdā „Aizkulises”(1925-1927). Darba mērķis – noskaidrot, kādu attieksmi pret politisko un mediju eliti šajā laikā pauž populārā prese.
Darba pamatā izmantota teorija par populāro kultūru un populāro presi, kā pētnieciskā metode darbā izmantota diskursa analīze. Satura un tekstu analīze liecina, ka „Aizkulišu” lietotās valodas konstrukcijas, tematu un varoņu atlases kritēriji atbilst tabloīdu specifikai. Pētījuma rezultātā secināts, ka liela daļa tabloīda publikāciju veltītas mediju kritikai un politiskās dzīves procesu un aktoru aprakstam.

The subject of the thesis is a review of Latvia’s political and media elite in the tabloid “Aizkulises” (“Behind the Scenes”) (1925 – 1927). The objective of the research is to determine the opinion towards the political and media elite as expressed by the media publications of the time.
The theory of popular culture and popular press is at the basis of the research; the discourse analysis is the research methodology used. Analysis of the contents and texts validate that the criteria for the language, topic and idol selection in “Aizkulises” are consistent with the tabloid specifics. The research concludes that a significant portion of the tabloid publications was dedicated to media criticism and a description of the processes and actors of the political life.
