The purpose of this research was to evaluate the exictance of differences in the level of procrastination between those who work and those who study. Previous research had shown, that approximately 70 % of students (Ellis, & Knaus, 1997; Hill, & Hill, Chabot, & Barrall, 1987, as mentioned Beck, Koons, & Milgrim 2000) and 15-20% of adults (Ferarri et al., 2007, as mentioned Klingsieck, 2013) do procrastinate.
In this research participated 360 individuals of age ranging from 18 to 71 years, 274 females and 86 males, of which 166 individuals were grouped as "Working", 62 individuals as "Studying", 89 individuals as "Working and studying" and 43 "Not working and not studying".
As research methodology, Latvian version of General Procrastination Scale (Lay, 1986) was used along with demographic information: gender, age, education and dedicated questions for each group.
Research results had shown that the mean rate of procrastination is statistically considerably lower in case of working individuals compared to those who study and highlighted the statistically significant negative general relationship of procrastination and age and with employment duration for the group „Working and studying”.
