Tulkotāja lingvistiskās personības izpausmes E.Virzas un A.Upīša veiktajos romāna „Salambo” tulkojumos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts divu vienā gadā izdotu (1924) G. Flobēra romāna “Salambo” tulkojumu latviešu valodā analīzei. Romānu tulkojuši ievērojami latviešu rakstnieki – E. Virza un A. Upīts. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā tulkotāja personība ietekmē daiļdarba tulkojumu. Tas izdarīts, veicot tulkojumu un oriģināla salīdzinošo analīzi. Darba pirmajā daļā tiek izpētīti tulkošanas teorētiskie aspekti, tādi kā tulkošanas definīcija, daiļliteratūras tulkošanas specifika un problemātika, literāra darba analīzes metodes, kritēriji, kas jāievēro, lai to izdotos iztulkot, kā arī K. Raisas tekstu tipoloģija un to tulkošana. Otrā daļa veltīta tulkotāja lingvistiskajai personībai un salīdzinošajai analīzei. Tiek izpētītas trīs iesaistīto personu biogrāfijas, lai izprastu tulkotāja personības nozīmi tulkošanā. Izpētītas arī abu tulkotāju pieejas tieši romāna “Salambo” tulkošanas gaitā. Salīdzinošās analīzes rezultāti atklāj, ka tulkotāja lingvistiskajai personībai ir ļoti nozīmīga loma daiļliteratūras tulkošanā.

This bachelor’s thesis presents the comparative analysis of two Latvian translations made in the same year (1924) of a novel “Salammbo” by G. Flaubert. The novel is translated by two well-known Latvian writers E. Virza and A. Upits. The aim of the research is to compare these translations and to understand how the personality of a translator influences the translation. In the first part the theoretical aspects of translation are researched, like the definition of translation, the specifics and problems of a literary translation, the methods of analysis of a literary translation etc. The second part consists of a research about translator’s linguistic personality and comparative analysis of a novel “Salammbo”. The biographies of three persons involved are studied to see the role of the translator’s personality. Also the approach of each translator in the translation of “Salammbo” is studied. The results of the comparative analysis show that the translator’s linguistic personality has an important role in the literary translation.
