IT terminoloģijas lietojums latviešu medijos

Abstract

Pētījums IT terminoloģijas lietojums Latvijas medijos tapis ar nolūku atklāt attiecību starp latvisko IT terminoloģiju un anglisko IT terminoloģiju, kas tiek lietota Latvijas medijos, kā arī to, kādas ir atšķirības starp IT terminoloģijas lietojumu vispārīgajos medijos un specializētajos tehnoloģijas medijos. Pētījumā tiek atklāts, ka tikai nedaudz vairāk kā puse mediju lietotās terminoloģijas ir latviska, un ka pārējā terminoloģija ir vai nu anglicismi, vai arī pat nepārveidoti angļu valodas termini. Tiek parādīts arī tas tehnoloģiju mediji lieto pareizāku terminoloģiju (gan ‘ikdienā lietoto’, gan arī ‘ļoti specializēto’) nekā vispārīgie mediji, neskatoties uz to, ka tehnoloģiju mediju raksti pārsvarā ir rakstīti ikdienišķā stilā. Noslēgumā autors norāda, ka turpmāki pētījumi būtu ļoti nepieciešami, ja tos veiktu pēc piecu vai desmit gadus ilga laika perioda, jo tā būtu iespējams atklāt kā šī situācija mainās laika gaitā.

The main goal of Use of IT Terminology in Latvian Media is to ascertain the ratio between Latvian and English IT terms used in Latvian media and to see what differences are there between the terminology used in mainstream media, and in specialized, technology media. The research reveals that only slightly more than a half of terminology, which is used by the media, is in Latvian, the rest of it being anglicisms, or even unaltered English terms. It also reveals that even though technology media articles are mostly written in casual style, the terminology that is used in these articles (both ‘everyday’ and ‘highly specialized’) is more proper than the terminology used in mainstream media articles. In conclusion, the author states that, if carried out in five or ten years’ time, further research would be highly necessary, because it could reveal how the situation changes over time.
