Izlīgums ļauj cietušajam un likumpārkāpējam atrisināt ar noziedzīgu nodarījumu radušās problēmas mierīgā ceļā bez tiesas iejaukšanās, un tas var būt kā pamats personas atbrīvošanai no kriminālatbildības, tieši tāpēc izlīgums šādā kontekstā ir nozīmīgs abām pusēm, kā arī sabiedrībai kopumā. Šis institūts satur dažādus aspektus gan no saturiskā, gan procesuālā viedokļa, kurus ir svarīgi izpētīt, lai saprastu izlīguma būtību. Darbā tiek izpētīts izlīguma kā pamata personas atbrīvošanai no kriminālatbildības institūts Latvijas krimināltiesībās, pievēršoties institūta vēsturiskajai attīstībai, nozīmei, saturiskajai analīzei, procesa īstenošanai un iespējamām sekām. Darbā tiek izcelti dažādi institūta problēmjautājumi, kuri lielākoties radušies likumu nepilnību dēļ un kuriem autore ir centusies rast risinājumu. The settlement allows victim and offender solve the problems, which have resulted from crime, in peaceful way without the trail intervention, and it may exempt a person from criminal liability, that is the reason why the settlement in this context is important for both sides, as well as society in general. This institute contains various aspects of concept as well as procedure which is important to research in order to understand the nature of the settlement. The settlement has researched as reason of exemption from criminal liability in criminal law of Latvia, focusing on the institute historical development, importance, content analysis, process implementation and possible consequences. There are highlighted some issues, most of which are because of imperfection of law, and the author has tried to find solutions for them.
