Eiropas Savienības iesaiste etnisko konfliktu risināšanā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir: Eiropas Savienības iesaiste etnisko konfliktu risināšanā. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā Eiropas Savienība iesaistās un kādu lomu tā ieņem etnisko konfliktu risināšanā. Tiek izvirzītas sekojošas hipotēzes: 1) Eiropas Savienība ir viens no galvenajiem aktieriem etnisko konfliktu risināšanā. 2) Eiropas Savienības loma etnisko konfliktu risināšanā palielinājusies kopš Aukstā kara beigām. 3) Eiropas Savienība etnisko konfliktu risināšanā galvenokārt izmanto ekonomiskus un politiskus instrumentus. 4) Eiropas Savienības izmantoto instrumentu efektivitāte etnisko konfliktu risināšanā ir palielinājusies kopš Aukstā kara beigām. Lai sasniegtu darba mērķi, tiek pētīta Eiropas Savienības iesaiste trīs konfliktos. Darbā tika izmantotas kvalitatīvā novērojumu un salīdzinošā metodes. Darba noslēgumā trīs hipotēzes tiek apstiprinātas.

The theme of the thesis is: European Union engagement in ethnic conflict resolution. This aim of the research is to find out how the European Union is involved and what is the role of it in the ethnic conflicts. There are also four hypotheses proposed: 1) The European Union is one of the main actors of ethnic conflicts. 2) The role of the European Union in resolving ethnic conflict has increased since the end of the Cold War. 3) The European Union mainly uses economic and political tools in ethnic conflict resolution. 4) The effectiveness of the tools used by European Union in the ethnic conflict resolution has increased since the end of the Cold War. To achieve the goal of the research, there has been explored the engagement of the European Union in three conflicts. The qualitative observations and comparative methods have been used in the research. It was concluded that the three hypotheses are confirmed.
