This paper focuses on F. Nietzsche’s idea of the Overman and M. Heidegger’s idea of authenticity. It explores the overcoming of the human and its connection to the idea of eternal recurrence in the setting of Nietzsche’s philosophy, as well as Heidegger’s notion of Dasein in its state of everyday Being-with, its relationship with the Anyone and the notion of anxiety. This paper reveals the similarities and differences of these ideas by contrasting and comparing them, resulting in the discovery of overlapping similarities, which allows us to take a more comprehensive look at the problem of authenticity.
