Abstract
Bakalaura darbā „Pilsētas nakts ģeogrāfija: procesi un plānošana” tiek pētīta Rīgas pilsētas dzīve nakts laikā pilsētas visvecākajā daļā – Vecrīgā. Pētījumā tiek apskatīts, kādi procesi raksturo pilsētu naktī, kā tiek risinātas dažādas ar nakts laika plānošanu saistītas problēmas, kādas ir prakses citās pasaules pilsētas, saistītas ar nakts laika pārvaldību.
Darba mērķis ir: balstoties uz pētījumiem un plānošanas praksi pasaulē un izvērtējot Rīgas nakts urbānos procesus, izstrādāt priekšlikumus pilsētas pārvaldībai naktī.
Bakalaura darbs parāda, ka nakts tradicionāli vairs nav vienīgi atpūtas laiks, bet laika posms, kurā sākas jauni ģeogrāfiski, ekonomiski un sociāli procesi, kuru pārvaldībai nepieciešami jauni risinājumi.
In the bachelor thesis ‘’Geography of the night time city: processes and planning’’ the nightlife of the oldest part of Riga city (Old Riga) is researched. The research shows which are the most important processes characterizing the nighttime, how are the problems related to the nighttime planning solved and what is the experience of other cities around the world concerning the night time management. The aim of bachelor thesis is to make proposals for night time management, based on the research of night time processes in Riga and according to the night time studies and night time planning experiences around the world. The results of research shows that nighttime in cities no longer exists as a time only for rest, it is now a new period of time where different geographical, economical and social processes take place and new solutions for night time management are necessary.
