In the bachelor thesis ‘’Geography of the night time city: processes and planning’’ the nightlife of the oldest part of Riga city (Old Riga) is researched.
The research shows which are the most important processes characterizing the nighttime, how are the problems related to
the nighttime planning solved and what is the experience of other cities around the world concerning the night time management.
The aim of bachelor thesis is to make proposals for night time management, based on the research of night time processes in Riga and according to the night time studies and night time planning experiences around the world.
The results of research shows that nighttime in cities no longer exists as a time only for rest, it is now a new period of time where different geographical, economical and social processes take place and new solutions for night time management are necessary.
