Bachelor's paper is devoted to the development of the dystopia genre in Russian literature. Two contemporary Russian writers' novels have been chosen as the material of the paper – “Mascav Mekka” by Volos and “The Nore Dame De Paris Mosque” by E Chudinova. The paper is divided into two parts: the first part expounds the history of the dystopia genre and the main features of the contemporary Russian dystopia, the second part is devoted to the identification of the features of the contemporary Russian dystopia and the peculiarities of the manifestations of said features in Volos's and Chudinova's novels by comparing the texts. The architextual analysis is used to determine the features of the contemporary Russian dystopia, the comparative analysis is used to determine the features common for both texts, the structural analysis is used to determine connections and interactions of the various elements of the texts inherent to the contemporary Russian dystopia. The paper may be of use to philologists studying dystopias or can be used in further study of the contemporary Russian dystopia.
