Adaptētās literatūras lietojums individuālajās angļu valodas mācīšanas nodarbībās

Abstract

Mūsdienās, moderno tehnoloģiju laikmetā, lasīšana vēl joprojām ir ērtākais veids kā iegūt jaunu informāciju. Tā palīdz attīstīt uzmanību, spēju analizēt un apstrādāt jaunu informāciju, utt. Tomēr lasīšanas process liekas ļoti sarežģīts, īpaši jaunāko klašu skolēniem. Tādos gadījumos vecāki meklē privātskolotāju, kas palīdzēs risināt bērnu problēmu individuālajās stundās. Par populārāko rīku bērnu lasītprasmes attīstīšanai tiek uzskatīta adaptēta literatūra. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt adaptētās literatūras lomu jaunāko klašu skolēnu lasītprasmes attīstīšanā individuālajās angļu valodas kā svešvalodas stundās. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, tika izmantota gadījuma izpētes metode un rezultāti tika salīdzināti ar skolotāju anketu analīzes datiem. Pētījumu rezultāti parādīja, ka adaptētā literatūra palīdz paplašināt audzēkņu leksiku, palielināt lasīšanas ātrumu un uzlabot jauna teksta izpratni. Tātad adaptēta literatūra ieņem nozīmīgu vietu jaunāko klašu skolēnu lasītprasmes attīstībā privātstundās. Pētījuma rezultāti var tikt izmantoti tālākos pētījumos par adaptētās literatūras lomu skolā.

In the era of modern technologies, reading is still the most convenient way of getting new information. It helps to develop attention, the ability to analyse and process new information, etc. However, the reading process seems very difficult, especially for young learners. As a result, parents search for a tutor who will help to solve their children’s problems in private classes. The most popular tool to develop the young learners’ reading skills is considered to be graded readers. The aim of this research was to investigate the role of graded readers in the development of the young learners’ reading skills in one-to-one EFL tutoring. To achieve this aim, the case study method was applied, the results being compared to the analysis of teachers’ questionnaires. The results of the research showed that graded readers help to expand learners’ vocabulary, to fasten the pace of reading and to improve the comprehension of a new text. Consequently, graded readers play a significant role in the development of young learners’ reading skills in one-to-one EFL tutoring. The results of this research can be useful for further investigations on the role of graded readers at school.
