| dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darbs ''Dzīvnieku īpašības igauņu un latviešu sakāmvārdos'' veltīts dzīvnieku īpašību izpētei un salīdzināšanai.
Darba teorētiskajā daļā atspoguļots vispārīgs folkloras raksturojums. Apskatīta igauņu un latviešu folkloras vēsture. Sīkāk aprakstīta tieši sakāmvārdu attīstība un pētniecība Latvijā un Igaunijā.
Darba praktiskajā daļā sakāmvārdi klasificēti pēc struktūras, ko sakāmvārdu klasificēšanai izmantojis E. Laugaste (1975). Pēc tam tie analizēti pēc satura un formas. Izpētītas raksturīgākās dzīvnieku īpašības. Noslēgumā tiek atrastas tipiskākās dzīvnieku īpašības, kuras atklāj cilvēkam raksturīgo.

| dc.description.abstract | The present Bachelor paper is devoted to the analysis and comparison of animal characteristics in Estonian and Latvian proverbs.
The theoretical part of the paper is comprised of the overview of folklore and examination of Estonian and Latvian folklore history regarding its influence on the proverbs. It features a detailed overview of the development and research of proverbs in Latvia and Estonia.
In in the practical part of this paper the proverbs are classified according to the structure used by Laugaste, E. (1975) in his research on Estonian proverbs. The collected proverbs were analysed by their content and form, and the most typical animal characteristics were studied in detail. The findings demonstrate clear use of negative and positive traits of animals in the proverbs to portray the human behaviour.
