Baikots kā politiskās rīcības līdzeklis

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Baikots kā politiskās rīcības līdzeklis” mērķis ir izpētīt baikota kā politiskās rīcības līdzekļa iespējas un ierobežojumus patērētājiem. Darbā tiek apskatīta sociālā kapitāla nozīme patērētājiem, patēriņa prakšu ietekme uz politiku un identificētas baikotētāju stratēģijas un prakses apzinīgajā patēriņā. Baikots ir politiskā patēriņa forma, kas veicina pārmaiņas sociālajā, ekonomiskajā un politiskajā sfērā valstī, korporācijās vai citās instancēs. Šī patēriņa praktizētāji ir ieinteresēti sevis un sabiedrības izglītošanā par resursu patēriņu un tā nesamērīga patēriņa ietekmi uz dabu. Caur baikotu patērētāji kultivē un nostiprina savu identitāti.

The aim of Bachelors thesis „Buycott – Tool of Political Action” is to observe buycott limitations and possibilities to consumers in political sphere. In this work the main focus is on the meaning of social capital to consumers, the effect of consumerism on politics and the identification of buycotter strategies and practices in conscious consumerism. Buycott is form of a political consumption, which is encouraging changes in social, economical and political sphere in state, corporations and in other instances. Practitioners of this type of consumption are interested in educating themselves and society about use of resources and influence of overconsumption on nature. Through such acts buycotters are strengthening and cultivating their identities.
