With this action person declares his free will to inherit. Also acceptance of an inheritance is very responsible step because of threat that successor inherits not just actives but passives as well, so successor will be responsible for it with his all fortune or just with an amount of heritage and it would cause economical state of heir.
Like every other legal act to be valid the acceptance of an inheritance demands the same prerequisites.
This work gives an insight of the concept and features of acceptance of the inheritance in Latvia and list of foreign countries, also gives a short view of historical development and Latvias legal system. There are also have been outlined most significant problems and deficiencies in authors opinion and tried to discuss and find possible solutions for that.
