Bakalaura darbs „Vīriešu – feministu vīrišķības interpretācijas” mēģina noskaidrot, kā vīrieši, kas sevi dēvē par feministiem, piedēvē nozīmes vīrišķībai.
Darbā skaidrotas vīrišķībai piešķirtās nozīmes, vīrišķības izpratnes saistība ar feminismu un kā vīrišķības izpratnes atklājas ikdienas praksēs.
Kā darba teorētiskais ietvars izmantota Reivinas Koneles maskulinitātes teorija, to papildinot ar citu pētnieku darbiem un simboliskā interakcionisma perspektīvu.
Darbā izmantotas kvalitatīvās pētījumu metodes, veicot sešas daļēji strukturētas intervijas un iegūtos datus analizējot ar kvalitatīvās kontentanalīzes metodes.
Rezultāti atklāj, ka vīrišķības nozīme pētījuma dalībnieku dzīvē nav izteikta, vīrišķības interpretācijai ir cieša saistība ar feminisma idejām, vīrišķības izpratne ikdienas rīcībā atklājas dažādi, arī caur vīrišķo privilēģiju identificēšanu. Bachelor Thesis on the theme “Male Feminists' Interpretations of Masculinities” aims to find out how men who call themselves feminists assign meanings to masculinity.
The paper describes the meaning attached to masculinity as well as the connection between interpretation of masculinity and feminism and reveals how the comprehension of masculinity shows in everyday practices.
In order to form theoretical basis for the research, Raewin Connell’s theory of masculinity was used which is supplemented with the views of other researchers and the perspective of simbolic interactionism.
The qualitative research methods are applied by using six semi-structured interviews to collect data and the qualitative contentanalysis is used to analyze them.
The results reveal that the role of masculinity is not pronounced in the lives of informants; the interpretation of masculinity is closely connected with the ideas of feminism; in everyday behaviour the understanding of masculinity manifests in various ways, the identification of male privileges among them.
