Sociālo slāņu un dzimtes tēlojums Teodora Dreizera darbā „Māsa Kerija”

Abstract

Šis bakalaura darbs ir veidots, lai analizētu sociālus slāņus un dzimtes tēlojumu Teodora Dreizera romānā Māsa Kerija. Šajā darbā ir piedāvāta vispārējā informācija par romāna autoru un par pašu grāmatu, ka arī galvenās idejas, aprakstītas romānā, galveno varoņu analīze un dažu literāru kritiku domas par tādu tām laikam ekstravagantu un neparastu rakstīšanas veidu, tematu un problēmām, apspriestam grāmatā. Darbā ir dota informācija par zinātniekiem, kuri ir strādājuši šajā nozarē, ir analizēti līdzīgi pētījumi, ka arī darba metodoloģija ir aprakstītā. Darbā ir piedāvāta romāna analīze, attiecībā uz sociāliem slāņiem un dzimtes tēlojumu, un ir doti piemēri citātu veidā. Rezultāti, analīze un darbā gaitā izdarītie secinājumi ir arī piedāvāti šajā darbā. Visa iegūta informācija ir apkopota un prezentētā.

The current paper is devoted to the analysis of the representation of class and gender in Theodore Dreiser’s novel Sister Carrie. This paper gives an overview of the novel’s author and the book itself, as well as main concepts addressed in the novel, analysis of the major characters and critique of several literary critics concerning such unusual for the time of publishing way of writing and problems discussed in the course of the plot. The information about scholars that were working in this field and the analysis of similar studies is provided; as well as the methodology of the research is presented. This work includes the analysis of the novel concerning the representation of classes and gender, and examples in the form of quotations or short excerpts. The results, analysis and conclusions that were drawn in the course of studying this problem are provided. All information is summarized and presented in the paper.
