The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to establish how Soren Kierkegaard reveals the concept of repetition and Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche’s concept of eternal recurrence in his philosophical systems. The thesis explains Soren Kierkegaard’s concept ‘repetition’ as well as Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche’s concept ‘eternal recurrence’. It comes to the conclusion that Kierkegaard’s ‘repetition’ and Nietzsche’s ‘eternal recurrence’ are conceptually incompatible, however, both of these terms have common features which make them parallel. The main thing that both of these authors have in common is giving way to the thought of repetition or recurrence and making everyone choose this option for themselves which proves the maturity and daring nature of the personality.
Keywords: existence, Kierkegaard, repetition, eternal recurrence, Nietzsche, The Gay Science, personal choice.
