Depresija ir viena no visbiežāk sastopamajām psihiskajām saslimšanām. Depresija izraisa būtiskus psihisko procesu traucējumus - nomāktu garastāvokli, domu gausumu, koncentrēšanās grūtības, dzīvesprieka zudumu u.c. Depresija skar aizvien vairāk cilvēkus darbspējas vecumā. Depresijas pacientiem ir augstāks risks saslimt ar kādu no somātiskām slimībām, piemēram cukura diabētu, koronāro sirds slimību.
Šobrīd depresijas un depresīvu stāvokļu ārstēšanai tiek nozīmētas vairākas antidepresantu grupas, populārākās no tām ir serotonīna atpakaļsaistīšanas inhibitori, tricikliskie un atipiskie antidepresanti. Lai salīdzinātu dažādu antidepresantu lietošanas izplatību, par maģistra darba mērķi tika izvirzīts izpētīt antidepresantu apriti kādā Rīgas aptiekā no 2014. gada 1. janvāra līdz 2015. gada 30. janvārim. Iegūtie dati liecina, ka vispirktākie antidepresanti ir paroksetīns, escitaloprāms, citaloprāms, un tie pieder pie serotonīna atpakaļsaistīšanas inhibitoriem. Mazāk tiek iegādāti triciklisko un atipisko antidepresantu grupu pārstāvji. Visvairāk antidepresantus iegādājas cilvēki vecumā no 19 līdz 60 gadiem. Sievietes lieto antidepresantus 2 reizes biežāk, nekā vīrieši. Lielāku recepšu skaitu izraksta ģimenes ārsti un psihiatri. Antidepresantu tirzdniecībā ir novērojama sezonalitāte.
Pētījums izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātē Medicīnas fakultātes Farmācijas maģistra studiju programmas ietvaros.
