Abstract

Kriminālistiskā odoroloģija ir zinātne, kuras pamatā ir smaržas identificēšana ar detektoru palīdzību. Odoroloģiskās izpētes rezultātu ticamības ziņā nav vienota uzskata par to izmantošanu kriminālprocesā. Maģistra darba pētījuma mērķis ir izvērtēt odoroloģijas ekspertīzes gūto rezultātu izmantošanas iespējamību noziedzīgo nodarījumu atklāšanā, to pierādīšanā, kā arī personas vainas konstatēšanā. Izvirzītā mērķa sasniegšanai tika pētīti jautājumi par odoroloģijas jēdzienu, odoroloģijas izmantošanas pamatiem un odoroloģiskās ekspertīzes atzinumu kā pierādījumu kriminālprocesā novērtēšanu. Kriminālistiskajā odoroloģijā izstrādātā metodika un tehniskie paņēmieni ir procesuāli nostiprināti un zinātniski pamatoti, taču diskutējams ir jautājums par to kā atsevišķa pierādījuma izmantošanu. Forensic scent detection is a science that is based upon odour identification using scent detectors. In terms of reliability, there is no a common view regarding the use of scent detection research results within the judicial system. The aim of the Master's thesis is to evaluate the possibility of using the scent detection results to discover the offences, to prove them and to also state the guilt of the individual. In order to achieve the objective the following matters had been researched: the scent identification concept; the bases of the scent detection; the scent identification to be admitted as evidence within the judicial system. The developed methodology and techniques of criminal scent detection are procedurally embedded and scientifically sound, however the dispute is whether to use it as a distinct evidence.
