Bachelor’s thesis is written in Latvian on 29 pages. It contains 19 figures, 7 tables and 33 references to literature. Aim: evaluate the accuracy of the iridocorneal angle measurement in optometric practice and determine factors that can affect the angle. Method: assessment of the iridocorneal angle (ICA) was done with the van Herick technique using slit-lamp under different lighting conditions and with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT). Results and conclusions: in order to more accurately assess the iridocorneal angle (ICA), the van Herick technique of grading should be improved for open ICA assessment. In photopic lighting the ICA is measured 1 to 2 grades wider than in mesopic. The ICA in myopic people is wider than in emmetropic people. AS-OCT results show that the van Herick technique is sufficiently precise in the assessment of ICA in optometric practice.
