Dzemdību tradīcijas latviešu folklorā

Abstract

Cilvēka dzimšana, tāpat kā nāve, tiek uzskatītas par sliekšņa jeb robežsituācijām, kas pieprasa īpašu attieksmi un ir saistītas ar dažādiem mītiski maģiskiem priekšstatiem. Dzemdības saistāms ar sievietes auglību, seksualitāti, partnerattiecību un laulības dzīves funkcionalitāti, sociālo lomu izpildi, iniciāciju. Šim darbam tika uzstādīts mērķis identificēt, kā latviešu folkloras materiālā attēlotas dzemdības un ar tām saistītie procesi, tādējādi atklājot tradicionālos priekšstatus par bērna nākšanu pasaulē. Veiktas zinātniskās literatūras studijas par dzemdību tēmu no mītiskā aspekta, izmantojot dažādu folkloras pētnieku un antropologu pētījumus par tādām tēmām kā iniciācija, tabu, kosmogonija, antropogonija, plašāka dzemdību tradīciju konteksta radīšanai dažādās kultūrās. Identificēts, apkopots un analizēts ar dzemdībām saistītais folkloras materiāls - buramvārdi, tautasdziesmas un ticējumi. Veidota dzemdību procesa retrospekcija, atklājot latviešu dzemdību tradīciju specifiku dzemdību sagatavošanās, atvēršanās, izstumšanas un arī placentārajā periodā.

A birth of a human, as well as the death is considered as threshold or borderline situation that demands a particular attitude and is related to different mythically magic presumptions. Childbirth is related to woman’s fertility, sexuality, the functioning of a partnership or marriage, fulfilling of social role, initiation. The aim of this academic work was to identify, how the childbirth and other birth-giving processes are shown in Latvian folklore materials. The studies on scientific literature were made in order to find out more about the childbirth from mythical perspective. The research papers of different folklore scholars and anthropologists focusing on such topics as initiation, taboo, cosmogony, anthropogony were used to place the childbirth tradition in a wider context in different cultures. During the work process the folklore material of childbirth such as incantation, folk-songs and beliefs were identified, summarized and analyzed. The author made a retrospection of delivery process, thus revealing the particularity of Latvian childbirth traditions in preparation to delivery, the dilation, expulsion and placental stage.
