Darbs kopumā sastāv no 76 lapaspusēm. The subject of this Master’s thesis is “Settlement as a regulation of judicial relationships in criminal procedure.” According to the author, this research is topical, because persons who are involved in criminal proceedings are not always fully informed about possibility to conclude the settlement agreement; therefore this legal procedure in practice is not used efficiently. Master's thesis is to analyze the concept of settlement and its nature, explore necessary preconditions for the settlement, to identify settlement’s problematic issues from the perspective of practice and put forward proposals for improving the current regulation. During the analysis, the author uses not only opinions of different researchers and authors', but also the views of the representatives of legal discipline, who face in their daily work with the settlement in practice. As a result of the analysis, author's conclusions on problematic issues in practice and proposals on improvement of settlement regulation are provided. The work generally consists of 76 pages. During summarizing the results of the work, the author has set 19 conclusions and proposals.
