Melanomas apzināšanās un riska uzvedība starp universitāšu studentiem

Abstract

Melanomas sastopamība turpina pieaugt visā pasaulē, it īpaši jaunu eiropeīdu pieaugušo vidū. Ir svarīgi identificēt riska faktorus un sniegt zināšanas par melanomu, lai varētu novērst tās rašanos. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot atšķirības starp valstīm un fakultātēm saistībā ar melanomas apzināšanos un riska uzvedību, it īpaši analizējot, vai labāka melanomas apzināšana samazina riska uzvedību. Šis kross-sekcionālais pētījums iekļāva Latvijas un Somijas universitāšu studentus no divām dažādām fakultātēm (medicīnas un fizikas). Mūsu pētījums atklāja, ka melanomas apzināšana neparedz ar sauļošanos saistītas riskantas uzvedības mazināšanos. Starp fakultātēm un nacionalitātēm pastāv atšķirības attiecībā uz (melanomas) apzināšanu un riskantu uzvedību saulē.

The prevalence of melanoma continues to increase worldwide, but especially in Caucasian young adults. It is important to identify the risk factors and engage the knowledge associated with melanoma in order to prevent the occurrence of it. The aim of this study was to find any differences in awareness and risk behavior from melanoma by the country and the faculty, in particular to analyze if better awareness of melanoma reduces risk behavior. This cross-sectional study included Latvian and Finnish university students from two different faculties (medical and physics faculty). : Our study reveals that awareness of melanoma does not predict sun related risk behavior. There are differences between faculties and nationalities in awareness and sun related risk behavior.
