Bakalaura darbā “Au pair programma: dalībnieku iesaistes iemesli un ieguvumi” analizēti jauniešu iesaistes iemesli un ieguvumi no au pair programmas, izmantojot racionālās izvēles un sociālās apmaiņas teoriju. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot iemeslus un ieguvumus, kādēļ dalībnieki iesaistās au pair programmā. Lai sasniegtu darba mērķi, izmantota kvalitatīvās pētniecības pieeja. Veiktas divpadsmit daļēji strukturētas intervijas. Analīzes daļā galvenās kategorijas tika atvedinātas no iepriekš aprakstītas teorijas. Secināts, ka ne visi dalībnieki rīkojas racionāli, kā to paredz teorijā aprakstītais, un kultūras dažādība spēlē lielu lomu starp apmaiņas dalībniekiem apmaiņas laikā. Tomēr ar iesaisti au pair programmā visiem dalībniekiem izdevās sasniegt savus izvirzītos mērķus un vēlamākos tā brīža vēlamos ieguvumus. In the Bachelor’s thesis “Au pair program: participant involvement reasons and benefits” the reasons and benefits of young people’s involvement in au pair programme are examined using the rational choice and social exchange theory. To reach the aim of the thesis, the qualitative research method was used. Twelve semi-structured interviews were conducted. In the Analysis section main categories were construed from the previously described theory. It was concluded that not all participants demonstrate rational behaviour, as was predetermined in the theory. During the exchange cultural difference plays a large role between the participants. With involvement in the au pair programme all participants were successful in reaching their objectives and the most desirable outcomes at the moment.
