Maģistra darbs “Ģēnija un mākslas noteikumu savstarpīgums Imanuēla Kanta estētikas filozofijā” ir veltīts Kanta estētikas filozofijas analīzei. Darbā tiek analizēti nosacījumi, kurus Kants izvirza daiļās mākslas darbu radīšanai, nolūkā izpētīt saistību starp ģēniju un mākslas noteikumiem mākslinieciskās jaunrades procesā. Kanta darbā “Spriestspējas kritika” izstrādātā ģēnija koncepcija filozofijas vēsturē bieži ir interpretēta kā radošā mākslinieka emancipēšana no jebkuru kārtulu spaidiem, no kuriem autoram nepieciešami jāatbrīvojas, lai tas spētu radīt oriģinālu mākslas darbu. Maģistra darbā tiek piedāvāts no iepriekšminētā atšķirīgs Kanta teksta lasījums, kurā akcentēts nevis ģēnija un mākslas noteikumu pretstatījums, bet gan ciešs kopsakars, bez kura ģēnija māksla nebūtu iespējama. Lai raksturotu attiecības starp ģēniju un mākslas noteikumiem, maģistra darbā tiek lietots savstarpīguma jēdziens, ar to saprotot situāciju, kurā ģēnijs, dodams mākslai jaunu kārtulu, vienlaicīgi pats ir tiešā veidā pakļauts pastāvošajiem mākslas noteikumiem, kuri tam jāievēro, radot daiļās mākslas darbus. Mākslinieks, kurš ir apveltīts ar ģēnija talantu, nevis rada daiļās mākslas darbu viņpus kārtulām, būdams atbrīvots no visu noteikumu ievērošanas, bet gan balstās uz esošajiem mākslas noteikumiem un tādējādi rod iespēju paplašināt mākslas robežas. The master thesis on the Reciprocity of Genius and Rules of Art in the Aesthetic Philosphy of Imannuel Kant is dedicated to the analysis of Kant’s aesthetic philosophy. The master thesis provides an analysis of the conditions advanced by Kant for the creation of fine art, in order to determine the relationship between genius and the rules of art in the process of creating new works of art. The concept of genius, developed by Kant in his work, “Critique of Judgement”, is often interpreted in the history of philosophy as the emancipation of a creative artist from coercion by any rules, as it is essential that the artist be freed from all rules, in order for it to be capable of creating original works of art. In contrast to the above interpretation, the master thesis offers an alternative reading of Kant. Rather than accenting the juxtaposition of genius and the rules of art, the master thesis accents their close interrelation, without which, genius in art would not be possible. In order to characterize the relationship between genius and the rules of art, the master thesis employs the concept of reciprocity—meaning, the situation, in which a genius, in introducing a new rule to art, is concurrently directly subject to the existing rules of art, which it must follow in creating new works of art. An artist, which is endowed with the talent of genius—rather than being freed from compliance with the rules of art, and thus free to create works of fine art outside established rules—in actuality bases itself on existing rules of art, and thereby creates the opportunity to expand the boundaries of art.
