Svešvalodu apguves materiāli mediķiem

Abstract

Šis dokuments ir veltīts pētniecības aspektiem par svešvalodu mācību materiāliem mediķiem. Autore sniedz informāciju no konkrētu grupu autoriem, piemēram, kā Ainsworth-Vaugh (2001), Wilce (2009) un Maynard (1991), kas ir pētījuši jēdzienu „medicīnas diskurss”, kā arī par vispārējiem aspektiem, kas ir nepieciešami, lai izstrādātu angļu medicīnas mācību grāmatu, kurā autori, piemēram, Grant (1987), Cunningsworth (1984) un Ur (1996) tiek pētīti. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt medicīnas angļu valodu un noskaidrot, kādi aspekti ir nepieciešami, lai izgatavotu profesionālas angļu medicīnas mācību grāmatas. Papildus, pētījuma mērķis atklāj būtiskākos elementus, kas ir nepieciešami, lai angļu medicīnas mācību grāmata būtu izdevīga studentiem un kādi kritēriji tiek piemēroti, lai palīdzētu nākotnes veselības aprūpes speciālistiem, izvēlēties atbilstošu angļu medicīnas mācību grāmatu. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, tika piemērota kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā analīze. Šī Bakalaura darba rezultāti liecina, ka medicīnas diskurss aplūko ne tikai medicīnas praksi, bet arī valodas ideoloģijas. Un aspekti, kas iekļauti mācību grāmatā ir ne tikai būtiski skolotājiem, bet arī skolēniem, jo tie ietekmē to, kā zināšanas tiks uztvertas.

This paper is dedicated to the research of aspects of foreign language learning materials for medical staff. The author provides information on a certain groups of authors like AinsworthVaugh (2001), Wilce (2009) and Maynard (1991) who are concerned with the concept ‘medical discourse’, as well as on the general aspects which are required to produce English medical textbook where authors like Grant (1987) Cunningsworth (1984) and Ur (1996) are inspected. The goal of this research is to analyze Medical English and clarify what aspects are necessary to produce professional medical English textbooks. Additionally, the research aims at discovering the most essential elements which are necessary for an English Medical Textbook to be beneficial for students and what kind of criteria are adopted to help future health professionals to choose an appropriate English Medical textbook. In order to achieve the goal qualitative and quantitative analysis were applied. The results of this bachelor thesis show that medical discourse deals not only with medical praxis but also with the language ideologies. And aspects which are incorporated in the textbook are not essential only to teachers but also to students, because they highly influence the way of what and how the knowledge will be comprehended.
