Darbs sastāv no divām daļām. Pirmajā daļā ir pētīta korejiešu valodas vēsture, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot valodas īpatnībai un vārdu krājuma dalīšanai. Otrā daļa ir veltīta darba galvenā jautājuma iztirzāšanai, t.i., kā Kjonsando dialekts atšķiras no centrālā dialekta. The title of this Bachelor’s thesis is „Specifics of the Kyongsangdo dialect through classical Korean language prism”. The main goals of this thesis are to examine modern features of Kyongsangdo region dialect, analyze and describe the dialect, as well as to show their difference from central region dialect phonology, grammar and vocabulary. The Korean language is relatively homogeneous and the dialects from different areas can be mutually understandable to a great extent. We can distinguish six main Korean language dialects areas: 1) the central region dialect, 2) the northwest, 3) the northeast, 4) the southwest, 5) the southeast, and 6) Jeju Island dialect. Dialect features revealed in phonetic, vocabulary, intonation and grammar. The most important feature which desctibes dialect is the specific intonation of Kyongsangdo dialect. Kyongsangdo dialect does not have the same grammatical forms as classical Korean language does. Thesis consists of two chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the general research of Korean language history, with paying attention to language features and vocabulary division. The second chapter is dedicated to the main problem of this thesis – how Kyongsangdo dialect differs from the central region dialect.
