I tipa cukura diabēts: hroniskas slimības pieredzes naratīva konstruēšana

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs “I tipa cukura diabēts: hroniskas slimības pieredzes naratīva konstruēšana” ir uz kvalitatīvām metodēm balstīts pētījums par indivīda hroniskas saslimšanas pieredzi. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā indivīds skaidro slimības pieredzi caur stāstu. Pētījumā izmantoti astoņu informantu, kuri slimo ar I tipa cukura diabētu, stāsti, kuri tālāk tiek analizēti ar naratīva analīzes palīdzību. Pētījums atklāj, ka naratīvam var būt atjaunojoša loma indivīda slimības pieredzē – tas palīdz izprast saslimšanu, rast tai jēgu un sadzīvot ar to. Naratīvs veidojas intersubjektīvā pieredzē, kur svarīga ir arī sabiedrības, līdzcilvēku un ārstu loma. Ārsta zināšanas par saslimšanu netiek noliegtas, taču autoritāra loma šo zināšanu ietvarā tiek piedēvēta pašam diabēta slimniekam.

Bachelor’s thesis “I Type Diabetes: Narrative Constructions of Chronic Illness Experience” is a qualitative research of experiences coming from individuals with chronic illness. The aim of the research is to discover how an individual describes their illness experience through story. There was a group of eight participants with type I diabetes whose stories were taken as the basis for the narrative analysis. The research reveals that the narrative may be beneficial for the individual as it helps to understand the illness and make meaning of it, and helps them to achieve efficient coexistence with this particular illness. Narrative makes its roots from intersubjective experience of each individual – the interaction with society, family, doctors and group of closer people like friends and acquaintances. Even though the knowledge of a doctor is not denied, the narrator itself becomes an authority in terms of particular knowledge.
