Pētījuma tēma ir „Latvijas reģionālās attīstības politika – Latgales plānošanas reģions”. Pētījuma mērķis ir aplūkot Eiropas Savienības struktūrfondu līdzekļu izmantošanu Latgales plānošanas reģionā, ar nolūku radīt jaunas darba vietas un piesaistīt kvalificētus profesionāļus. Teorētiskajā daļā tika aplūkoti desmit D.Fetterman pilnvarošanas teorijas principi. Savukārt empīriskajā daļā tika veikts Latgales plānošanas reģiona atbilstības kritērijiem izvērtējums. Autoresprāt, šis pētījums sniegs ieskatu Latgales plānošanas reģiona izvērstajā reģionālās attīstības. Balstoties uz empīrisko analīzi var teikt, ka Latgales plānošanas reģions neefektīvi izmanto Eiropas Savienības struktūrfondu līdzekļus, lai veicinātu reģiona ilgtspējīgu attīstību, radot jaunas darba vietas un piesaistot jaunus, kvalificētus profesionāļus. The research theme is " Latvian Regional Development Policy - Planning Region of Latgale". The aim of the study is to look at the use of Structural Funds of the European Union in Latgale planning region, in order to create new jobs and attract qualified professionals. In theoretical part author describes ten D.Fetterman empowerment evaluation theory principles. But in the empirical part there is done evaluation of the principles for Latgale planning region. The author thinks that this study will provide an insight into the expanded Latgale planning region regional development policy. On the basis of the empirical analysis, author can say that, Latgale planning region ineffective use European Union Structural Funds, in order to promote the region's sustainable development, creating new jobs and attracting new, skilled professionals.
