Francijas troņa kandidāts Luijs XVIII un viņa galms Kurzemē 18.gs. beigās un 19.gs.sākumā

Abstract

Maģistra darbā “Francijas troņa kandidāts Luijs XVIII un viņa galms Kurzemē 18. gs. beigās un 19. gs. sākumā” ir aplūkoti divi laika posmi – no 1798. līdz 1801. un no 1804. līdz 1807. gadam, kad Francijas troņa kandidāts Luijs XVIII bija spiests doties emigrācijā un rada patvērumu Kurzemē. Šī relatīvi īsā perioda ietekme uz Kurzemes vēsturi zinātniskajā literatūrā vēl aizvien nav pietiekami izvērtēta. Pētījums piedāvā hronoloģisku naratīvu par šo emigrācijas periodu, izmantojot Luija XVIII, viņa galminieku un citu laikabiedru atmiņas un vēstules, kā arī atsevišķu vēsturnieku pētījumus. Darba nobeigumā secināts, ka franču galma dzīve Kurzemē bijusi visai noslēgta un vērsta uz notikumiem ārpus Krievijas impērijas, tomēr atsevišķās jomās vērojama paliekoša ietekme.

The master’s thesis “The Pretender to the French Throne Louis XVIII and his Court in Courland at the End of 18th Century and the Beginning of 19th Century” focuses on two periods from 1798 to 1801 and from 1804 to 1807 when the candidate for the crown of France, Louis XVIII was forced to go in exile and found a refuge in Courland. The impact of this relatively short period on the history of Courland in the scientific literature is still not sufficiently evaluated. To go in this direction, this paper offers a chronological narrative about this emigration period, that is based on memoirs and letters of emigrants, as well as historians’ researches. It is concluded that the life of the French court was quite secluded and directed towards events outside of Russian Empire, however in some aspects there can be seen a lasting impact.
