Bakalaura darba tēma ir „ASV prezidenta kandidātu Donalda Trampa un Hilarijas Klintones reprezentācijas ziņu portālos CNN.com, BBC.com un DELFI.lv laika posmā no 2016. gada 1. marta līdz 2016. gada 7. novembrim”. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas Hilarijas Klintones un Donalda Trampa sociālās reprezentācijas fiksējamas interneta ziņu portālu CNN (ASV), BBC (Apvienotā Karaliste) un Delfi.lv (Latvija) publikācijās un to lietotāju komentāros. Teorijas daļā iekļautas sociālkonstruktīvisma un sociālo reprezentāciju teorijas, kā arī raksturota politiskā komunikācija ASV vēlēšanu cīņu kontekstā. Metodoloģiskajā daļā raksturotas izmantotās pētniecības metodes – kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze. Empīriskajā daļā ir apkopoti un analizēti pētījumā iegūtie dati, iekļauti rezultāti un secinājumi. Pētījumā atklāts, ka Hilarijas Klintones reprezentācija visos medijos ir pozitīvāka, nekā Donalda Trampa reprezentācija. The theme of the bachelor thesis is „Representations of USA presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in news portals CNN, BBC and Delfi.lv and in the comments of media users in the period of March 1st, 2016 until November 7th, 2016”. The aim of the paper is to discover social representations of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump within news portals CNN (USA), BBC (UK) and Delfi.lv (Latvia), their publications and users comments. The theoretical part contains theories such as social constructivism, social representation theory, and explanation of political communication in context of USA elections. The methodological part describes used methods – quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The empirical part contains data gathered and analyzed, includes results and conclusion. In the research it was discovered that the representation of Hillary Clinton was more positive than Donald Trump’s representation in all media portals.
