Šis darbs ir veltīts pilsētas telpas aspektu un pilsētas veidola izpētei. Autors izskata galvenās pētnieku koncepcijas, kas ir saistītas ar pilsētas un tās elementu semiotikas analīzi, kā arī ar to, kā sabiedrība kopumā un tās atsevišķi indivīdi uztvēr pilsētu. Romāns "Pelēkās gļotas" («Серая слизь»), ko sarakstījuši Aleksandrs Gaross un Aleksejs Jevdokimovs (Александр Гаррос, Алексей Евдокимов), tiek izmantots kā materiāls, lai analizētu Rīgas pilsētas telpu un atklātu tās mūsdienīgo un vēsturisko veidolu. Darbs sastāv no divām daļām. Pirmā daļa ir veltīta teorētiskajiem jautājumiem un lingvistu, literatūras pētnieku, filologu un kulturologu pētījumiem pilsētas telpas izpētes jomā. Otrajā daļā tiek analizēts romāns "Pelēkās gļotas", saskaņā ar uzstādītiem mērķiem tiek izskatīti Rīgas pilsētas elementi un veidols. This work is devoted to the research of aspects of urban space and the image of the city. Author considers the basic concepts of researchers, which are connected with analysis of urban semiotics, its' elements, as well as the perception of the city in the eyes of society and seperate individuals. Novel "Grey Slime" ("Серая слизь") from Alexander Garros and Alexey Yevdokimov (Александр Гаррос, Алексей Евдокимов) is used as a material for analysis of urban space of the city of Riga and for revealing it's historical and modern image. This work consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to the theoretical issues and to the researches of linguists, literary scholars, philologists and cultural experts in urban space researching. In the second part of this work, the novel "Grey Slime" is analyzed, urban elements and the image of the city of Riga are researched in accordance with tasks set.
