Skolotāju perspektīva: jauniešu pašnāvību prevencija Latvijas skolās

Bakalaura darba mērķi ir izpētīt skolas kā nozīmīga sociālā institūta lomu pašnāvību prevencijā un uzzināt skolotāju perspektīvu par to. Tāpat autore pēta, vai skolotāji pilda vārtnieka lomu. Pašnāvības tiek analizētas no socioloģiskās perspektīvas. Analīzē tiek izmantota Aģentu tīkla teorija. Mērķu sasniegšanai tika veiktas 12 daļēji strukturētās intervijas ar Latvijas skolu 8.-12. klašu audzinātājiem un eksperta intervija. Jaunietim apkārt esošo tīklu veido skola, ģimene un sabiedrība. Pašnāvību prevenciju skolā var veikt, tomēr skolotāji uzskata, ka primāri ģimenei būtu jāspēj novērst šādi gadījumi. Klases audzinātāju kā vārtnieku var raksturot pēc motivācijas, savstarpējās uzticēšanās un zināšanām, kā palīdzēt suicidāla riska jauniešiem. Klases audzinātāji ieņem vārtnieka lomu, ziņojot par jauniešu garīgās veselības problēmām vecākiem vai skolas personālam, tomēr neizvirza pašnāvību prevenciju skolā kā prioritāti. The objective of this study is to find out schools role in suicide prevention and a teacher’s perspective about it. Author is examining if teachers consider themselves gatekeepers. Suicides were researched from sociological perspective. Actor network theory was used in analysis. To achieve the objective, the author conducted semi-structured interviews with 8th-12th grade high school teachers and an expert on the matter. The network around a pupil is made by school, family and society. Suicide prevention could be done in schools but teachers believe that family has to take the main responsibility in suicide prevention. A teacher in the gatekeeper position can be characterized by their motivation, trust and knowledge, how to help youth at risk. Teachers fulfill the role of gatekeepers by reporting students mental health problems to parents and school staff, however they do not see suicide prevention as priority.
