“Gada kandži” izvēles principi, to sistematizācija un kategorizācija

Abstract

Maģistra darbs ““Gada kandži” izvēles principi, to sistematizācija un kategorizācija” analizē “Gada kandži” akciju, kuras ietvaros japāņu balsotāji izvēlas hieroglifu jeb kandži, kurš viņuprāt vislabāk raksturo pagājušā gada notikumus. Līdz šim publiski pieejamos avotos netika atrasts neviens pētījums, kurš par analīzes objektu izvēlētos “Gada kandži”, un šīs akcijas vecums (norisinās kopš 1995. gada) ļauj spriest, ka iespējams šāda veida darbi nepastāv vispār. Šāds pētījums tomēr varētu dot ieskatu japāņu psiholingvistiskās konceptualizācijas procesos, kā arī kļūt par rīku turpmākiem pētījumiem japāņu lingvistikas un socioloģijas jomās. Darba mērķis ir veikt “Gada kandži” akcijas rezultātu izpēti, analizēt faktorus, procesus un likumsakarības, kas ietekmē šos rezultātus, kā arī izdarīt secinājumus par to, kā un kādēļ tiek izvēlēti noteikti hieroglifi. Tika secināts, ka “Gada kandži” visbiežāk reprezentē noteiktām kategorijām piederīgus notikumus. Tādējādi, hieroglifi, kuri ir spējīgi reprezentēt notikumus tieši no šīm kategorijām, tiks izvēlēti biežāk. Pastāv arī ietekmes faktori, kuri nav saistīti ar hieroglifu semantiku - izmantošanas biežums plašsaziņas līdzekļos, piederība noteiktām kandži grupām - tomēr šiem faktoriem izvēles procesā ir papildinoša loma. Darbs sastāv no teorētiskās daļas, kurā tiek apkopotas atziņas par psiholingvistiskās konceptualizācijas un hieroglifu uztveres jautājumiem, un praktiskās daļas, kurā tiek analizēti akcijas rezultāti, iespējami ietekmes faktori, kā arī tiek izdarīti secinājumi par novērotām likumsakarībām. Darbu veido 66 lpp.

The master’s thesis, titled “Systematization and Categorization of the Criteria for Choosing “Kanji of the Year””, analyses the “Kanji of the Year” event, during which Japanese voters choose a hieroglyph or kanji which, in their opinion, represents the events of the past year in the best way. Up until now no publicly available source provides research that would choose “Kanji of the year” as its object of study, and the age of the event (since 1995) suggests, that such research might not exist at all. Nevertheless, such a research would allow studying the psycholinguistic conceptualization in Japanese, as well as serve as a tool for further studies in the field of Japanese psycholinguistics and sociology. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the results of the “Kanji of the year” event, research the factors, processes and regularities that affect these results, as well as to produce conclusions about why and how certain hieroglyphs are chosen. It has been concluded that “Kanji of the year” most often represent events from certain categories. Accordingly, hieroglyphs that can represent these categories are chosen more often. There are also factors that are not related to the semantics of hieroglyphs - frequency of use in media, being part of certain kanji groups - although these factors have a complementary role in the choosing process. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, in which information about the processes of psycholinguistic conceptualization and hieroglyph processing is summarized, and a practical part, in which the results of the event and possible factors of influence are analysed, as well as conclusions about the discovered regularities are made. The works consists 66 pages.
