Thesis includes theories related to the fairy tale and serial structure, as well as the cinema narrative to make an analysis of how the TV series "Once Upon a Time" corresponds to the classic fairy-tale structure. With the help of quantitative content analysis it is determined what character qualities, features and functions character manages in fary tale's context. But with the help of semiotics it is determined what tools are used to express the desirable serial guideline. The results of thesis reveals serial conjunction and divergency to the classic tale structure.
