Respondenti aizpildīja demogrāfisko datu aptauju (vecums, dzimums, bērna vecums, vai dzīvo kopā ar bērnu un bērna māti), Subjektīvās labizjūtas skalu pieaugušajiem (Personal Wellbeing Index for Adults, The International Wellbeing Group, 2013, K.Pīrāgas tulkojums latviešu valodā, 2017) , Vecāku subjektīvās labizjūtas aptauju (The Subjective Well-Being of Parents, Ishii-Kuntz & Ihinger-Tallman, 1991, K.Pīrāgas tulkojums latviešu valodā, 2017) un Iesaistes bērna aprūpē aptauju (The Child Care Activities Scale, Cronenwett, Sampselle & Wilson, 1988, K.Pīrāgas tulkojums latviešu valodā, 2017). The aim of the research was to establish if there is a connection between well-being of new fathers and level of involvment in paternal care. There were 70 respondents participating in this study aged 20 – 43 with children younger than 2 years old. Participants answered to demographic data questions (age, sex, age of their children, living arrangements with mother of their child), Personal Wellbeing Index for Adults (The International Wellbeing Group, 2013), The Subjective Well-Being of Parents (Ishii-Kuntz & Ihinger-Tallman, 1991) and The Child Care Activities Scale (Cronenwett, Sampselle & Wilson, 1988). Results of the study revealed positive correlation between involvment in child care and well-being. Fathers with higher parental well-being had higher levels of involvment in play activities, as well as in direct and indirect childcare activities. Correlation between subjective well-being and involment in play activities was found. No differences were found between fathers with higher and lower level of childcare involvment.
